Alisia Glasier is an oil painter, public artist, youth mentor, and framer. In her personal work, painting is her tool to find solace. The physical end product is simply a result of the real art: the discoveries and comfort found in the process of creation. This artwork usually revolves around the chaos of life and how to process it. Alisia is also a framer, does contracted painting work, crochets, and is a lover of cats.
After receiving the Creatives Rebuild New York grant, she joined the team at Springville Center for the Arts to pursue community work and further explore her personal artwork. At SCA, she runs a program called the Public Art Corps, a job-readiness program for underprivileged youth in rural Springville. She is committed to spreading the tool of painting to teens so that they too can reap the benefits of finding positive expression and community in art.
