Alisia Glasier is an oil painter who uses her paintings to process the complicated circumstances of life. Painting is her tool to find solace. The physical end product is simply a result of the real art: the discoveries and comfort found in the process of creation.
After receiving the Creatives Rebuild New York grant, she joined the team at Springville Center for the Arts to pursue community work and further explore her personal artwork.
Outside of fine painting, she is primarily a muralist and youth mentor for rural and underprivileged areas. She runs a program called the Public Art Corps, run by Springville Center for the Arts and funded by the Drug Free Communities Grant through the Springville Regional Coalition. She is committed to spreading the tool of painting to teens so that they too can reap the benefits of finding positive expression and community in art.
